At this annual event to sponsor the Clara Mass Medical Center Foundation, we will be serving Tiger Stripe Reserve Rainforest Alliance Certified espresso, cappuccinos and lattes as well as French press brewed coffee selections. This event brings together some of NJ’s finest restaurants, wine shops and coffee to the sound of live music for a wonderful dining experience.

Espresso Tasting - July 12th 5:30-6:30PM
For this demo we will be taking a tour of the world of espresso - from the 4 M’s of classic Italian espresso-craft, {Miscela (blend), Macinazione (grinder and grind), Macchina (espresso machine) and most importantly Mano (hand of the barista)} to the choice and proper technique for texturing milk, to pouring a perfect heart in your latte. We’ll be talking espresso, cappuccino, and lattes all night long, but with just a couple of sips of the goods, this shouldn’t be much of a task for anybody.

For this demo we will be exploring (and tasting) the different ways we all get our morning Joe – from the humble ‘perk pot of days gone by to the elegant French press to the newly en vogue AeroPress. Come and see how coffee origin, roasting, and grind and extraction method all affect the flavor body and texture of your brew.

This coffee was the 1st place winner of the 2009 Ethiopia Taste of Harvest Competition. An exceptional natural or “dry” processed coffee from the famous Sidamo region that is rich and complex, with vivid black and blueberry notes, medium acidity and full body.

Tiger Stripe Reserve Espresso: Partnership with IFAW
With each bag of Tiger Stripe Reserve Rainforest Alliance Certified Espresso sold Kobricks will donate fifteen cents per pound toward the International Fund for Animal Welfare to help save endangered tigers in the wild.
The espressos deep and complex flavors include hints of fruit, nuts and chocolate. Smooth, wonderfully aromatic, full bodied richness. Rainforest Alliance Certified.

Mike the Roaster’s Take: Guats have a medium body and acitity and are soft and sweet in the cup. Tanzanian Peaberry has sharp acidity, medium body with a clean citrush finish.
