A Four Generation Quest for
Perfection
Manhattan in the Roaring 20's. In this time
of explosive growth, a young Samuel Kobrick joined the ranks
of hopeful entrepreneurs. Sam's philosophy was to roast the
finest coffee available, deliver fresh product and provide
top-of-the-line customer service. With this goal in mind, he
opened up shop on the lower Manhattan waterfront and began
roasting coffee.
Sam's obsession with freshness and quality
paid off and Kobrick's reputation for roasting exceptional
coffee spread quickly throughout the industry. As the years
went by, Samuel knew that he had to find someone to carry on
his legacy. He turned to his sons, Frank and Sonny.
In the spirit of family tradition, Frank then
turned the business over to his sons, Steve and Lee Kobrick,
keeping the legacy of masterful coffee roasting alive.

Today
To this day, we import and roast the finest
Arabica coffee beans. After passing through stage after stage
of careful discrimination, we select our coffee from the top
percentage of the harvest, often traveling to buy directly
from handpicked estates. Unlike the large "specialty" coffee
retailers of today, who must produce bulk quantities, our
coffee is slow roasted in small batches, illuminating all the
coffee's best qualities. For your enjoyment, our coffee is
always roasted to order and delivered to our outlets at
absolute peak freshness.
Kobricks believes strongly in supporting
sustainable coffee production, both environmentally and
socially. Our roasting plant is a Certified Organic Facility.
